Stephen E. Muslow Forestry Scholarship

In 2017, Hanna and Carol lost their longtime friend and mentor, Steve Muslow. Here are a few words from Hanna on carrying on his legacy:

“I wanted to start a scholarship with the Louisiana Forestry Foundation in Steve Muslow’s name because he loved the Foresty Industry and education. Steve’s hard work and dedication to the LFA helped make it the powerful and successful community it is today.

I am thrilled that Steve’s legacy will live on through this scholarship and the future generations of foresters who benefit from it. This scholarship means that more students will have the opportunity to learn about foresty and what a rewarding career it is. Louisiana forests and their landowners will benefit from this increased learning by having access to more certified foresters to help with foresty and land management.

I have so many fond memories of Steve it is hard to pick just one that I would like to share. He was an amazing man, my Father’s best friend, and my closest mentor. In December of 2016 when we were deciding and preparing to apply for tree farmer of the year, Steve Muslow, Steve Lennox, my mother and myself toured our whole farm. Steve told us the history of each piece of land that he had helped my father acquire and manage. The detail he knew about each piece was simply incredible. He truly loved the forest and the land and his passion was contagious. I am so thankful for all of the time I had with Steve and the forestry knowledge he shared with me and my family. The Louisiana Forestry Industry will forever be better because Steve Muslow was a part of it.”

If you would like to help us in carrying on Steve’s memory and legacy, we would be so grateful if you would donate to one of the following scholarships:
